The Knoxville, TN Zoo

It worked out well to drive part way to the cabin and stop in Knoxville to visit our first zoo. We got two days worth of zoo time for Johnathan and Joshua. It was also our first hotel stay for Johnathan, yet another fascination for a 3 year old.

The black bear exhibit was one of our favorites

Look Daddy!

Wasn't sure about those camels . . .

This as close as we could get to the giraffes, to Johnathan's dismay!

Driving a jeep like a real African safari.

Not exactly Aslan . . .

Ostrich

The landscaping at mist sprayers throughout the zoo. This proved to be a highlight for Johnathan. Here he is sticking his face down into one. It was a hot two days, so they really were great!

Joshua says, "I liked the zoo too!"

Riding back to the parking lot. Goofy faces.

Our little baby bird.
Yes, I did take the car seat off of the stroller and put it in this bird's nest for a picture.

Two of Johnathan's favorites: 1. a frog 2. that sprays water

Whoooooooooo is that boy?

Snakes. And like a 100% boy he LOVED the snakes.

Turtles.

Possibly my favorite picture from the zoo. See the bird behind the wing span poster?

Those rhinos didn't want to get out of the shade. Can't blame them!

This zoo is known for their red panda exhibit. Beautiful creatures.

We enjoyed a great bird show. After the show we got to see this one up close. Johnathan told the lady here that he was a brave kid. Pretty brave for an almost 3 year old.

Climbing through this tunnel like a gopher, which went under the gopher exhibit. Mommy should get some kind of award for doing this with him. Not easy on the knees!

Absolutely loved those mist sprayers.

This elephant was doing a dance for us. No kidding!

Becoming a brave kid a little more each day, Johnathan surprised us by being able to climb up this rope ladder all by himself . . .

. . . . and slide down too!

Blue's Clues!

Knoxville Red Panda!

We'd recommend this zoo to anyone who is looking for a new one to try!
