Opening Gifts

Because God gave his beloved son, Jesus Christ, we can have salvation and eternal life.
Our family celebrates His incarnation at Christmas time. We give gifts because God gave us such a superior gift in Christ!

We left our time with Dys family at Thanksgiving with gifts in tow. Jeremy and I also had some gifts for the boys to open. So we chose to do it the Saturday before Christmas, since we will be traveling to Michigan to spend Christmas with my parents.

We were able to skype Grandpa and Grandma Dys and they were able to see most of our gift opening that way. What a cool technology!

The first gift Johnathan opened. He's been shaking this present for weeks! And was so intrigued by the shape of it. Tinkertoys! Yeah!

Captain America costume from us.

Firefighter costume from Gpa & Gma Dys.

Pony on a stick from Gpa & Gma Dys. Pardon the blur on this photo. It's hard to catch a moving object!

A knight costume!

A gladiator costume. I asked him to give me a tough guy face for this one. Um, okay?

He did get much more than just costumes (can you tell we both hit the after Halloween clearance sales for those?) I just didn't manage to get any different pictures for some reason!!

My gift to the family was to buy a Wii. I told myself in October that if I could save $200 by December on our groceries, I would buy them one for Christmas. I saved $50 in Oct. And then I saved $170 in Nov. (It helped that we were out of town for a week). So I easily made my short term savings goal. We've been bowling and golfing up a storm ever since! What fun!
