The Indianapolis Zoo

So we went to Indianapolis for a little vacation. I can't tell you how many people here were confused. They asked, "Do you have family there?" We said no. They asked, "What is there to do in Indianapolis?" Well, I know its not "the beach," which is Myrtle Beach to everyone around here, but we found some fun things to do. Jeremy and I went to Taylor University for our undergrad degrees, which a little over an hour away from Taylor, so we would frequent Indy for events and special dates. I am especially familiar with Indy because I lived there for a semester while I student taught, 9 years ago. While we were there I had the special privilege to have a playdate with an old friend, one of my freshman roommates. How fun! We have many pictures to share of our trip. My mom and sister were even able to come down to share two days with us.

Enjoy! And leave a comment!

This zoo was GREAT! The best day of our vacation. It wasn't overly big which I like. It seemed like we could get to everything in about the 5 hours that we were there. It also seems like you can get pretty close to many of the animals. Besides all the wildlife, this zoo offers so many extras. They have a playground. A splash park. Dolphin Shows. Elephant Bath Shows. Snake Shows. Roller Coaster. Merry Go Round. Pony Rides. Other Rides. Shark Petting. Yes, Johnathan is so proud to say that he has touched a shark! Josh did too. Actually, he just about yanked the shark out of the pool, but that's my Josh :) This was hands down of most fun day in Indy.

Walrus.

Don't ask!? My 16 year old sister Aubrey. Keeps me young!

Pointing at something?

Desert dome.

Turtles and lizard on left.

Huge turtle!

At the dolphin show. My pictures of the show didn't turn out well, but this one shows how enthralled Josh was with it!

Giraffe, my favorite animal.

So glad Mom and Aubrey were there to enjoy all of this with us!
A much needed break from the stroller for Josh.

Ostrich.

Zebra, Johnathan's favorite animal.

Monkeys from Joshua's perspective.

Trying to climb the fence.

Mommy and Baby Elephant

Something in an aquarium!

Seals.

Penguins.

A fun hot day at the zoo! Grandma bought the boys each a stuffed animal souvenir. Johnathan chose a shark b/c he was so proud of himself for touching the shark. Josh chose the penguin b/c why? Not sure. He really did pick it himself. I think he liked that it had a leather beak, which is very chewable :)
